Hanscom AFB Youth Center: Youth Programs & Events

Youth Programs at Hanscom Air Force Base provide opportunities to develop their physical, social, emotional and cognitive abilities, and to experience achievement, leadership, friendship and recognition.

Youth Programs as a whole provides a
wide variety of services and activities
for children ages 5-18, including before- and after-school programs, full-day camps during summer vacation and school holidays, sports, youth transition and support services.

The School Age Program complements, rather than duplicates, the school day. The School Age “Clubhouse” is an interactive before- and after-school program designed for grades K-6.

The Youth Center caters to ages 9-18 with sports, instructional programs, classes, trips and more.

Youths ages 9–18 are eligible to participate in Youth Program sponsored activities and become Youth Center members (details below). Sponsors of the children must be from the following categories in accordance with
AFI 34-262:

Our sports and instructional programs have various age restrictions. When specified, younger children — as well
as adults — may participate in activities sponsored by Youth Programs, including special events and instructional programs.

There are many advantages to becoming a member of the Youth Center. Not only do children ages 9 and up have
access to the daily activities offered, members also receive
a discounted rate when registering for sports, dances, field trips and other special events. Don’t miss out on all the fun!

Hanscom's Youth Programs are affiliated with Boys & Girls Club of America, a national organization with a mission to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. One of the most important principles of the Boys & Girls Club "movement" is the assurance of fun and interesting experiences. Along with personal relationships with YP staff, the experiences and opportunities for youth establish principles that, while each is important, collectively they have a deep impact on the lives of young people.

4-H is the youth education branch of the Cooperative Extension Service, a program of the United States Department of Agriculture. Each state and each county has access to a County Extention Office for both youth
and adult programs.

4-H enables youths to have fun, meet new people, learn new life skills, build self-confidence, learn responsibility, and set and achieve goals! It develops all youths to reach their fullest potential through:

developing life skills
learning by doing
utilizing the knowledge of the land-grant university system
